Prenatal yoga and pelvic floor physiotherapy - 3 part series 

Sunday October 13, 20, & 27th

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Join Leah Lowe (RYT 200, RPYT 85, RN) and Sarah Woodward  (PT, DPT, OCS, WCS) for a collaboration series of education and movement.  Each class  will cover a focus area of change in the  pregnant body and incorporate this awareness into  a modified yoga practice. 

In this 3 part series we will focus on:

  • Diaphragm & abdominals

  • Pelvic floor muscles 

  • Spine & balance

    • Shoulders & chest

    • Low back & hips

    • Center of gravity

Each session will begin with a sharing circle, to deepen our community, listening and learning from one another. 

You will benefit from knowledge of safe prenatal yoga classes, pdf copies of sequences, educational anatomical materials, as well as a growing community. Join this empowering experience!

This workshop is open to all levels of yoga practitioners and/or  pregnant bodies! If you are new to yoga or have an extended practice but are grasping for ways to safely modify your practice during your pregnancy - this is for you! 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Dr. Sarah is a pelvic and abdominal rehabilitation expert with over 14 years experience supporting birthing individuals with physical therapy during pregnancy and postpartum.  She owns Luminous Physio in Greenlake and is committed to providing practical, compassionate and body positive education.  Her personal passion for yoga often overflows into her medical practice as a way to help her patients connect to their bodies and navigate life changes with clarity and balance.

I’m Leah! I am a mom, yogi, nurse, and nature loving soul. I have been practicing yoga for over a decade and I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2022 in Seattle. During my pregnancy, I participated in a Prenatal/Postnatal training workshop. As a new mom, I felt and feel empowered by my pregnancy and post birth journey. I completed my 85 hour Prenatal/Postnatal training to continue to share the yoga experience and related education with parents-to-be. I am passionate about collaborating with others to extend collective knowledge and practices to serve perinatal individuals and families!

Class Description:

Leah Lowe (RYT, RPYT, RN) and Sarah Woodward (PT, DPT, OCS, WCS) collaborate to offer a series that will compliments their prenatal series, with a new focus on the postpartum body and changes.

Each class will begin with a sharing circle, followed by a targeted area of the body, and end with a safe yoga movement practice!
